The course aims to enable students to recognise and understand the structure and linguistic and other conventions of written and spoken academic discourse. In particular, the course aims to develop students' communicative competence in English in relation to their academic and future professional environment, to introduce and develop the specific academic vocabulary of the science of agronomy, to develop skills in understanding moderately difficult authentic scientific texts, to develop oral discourse as it is expressed in real communication situations in relation to the field of science of the department.
